Open to all aspiring CAEs at Chicagoland associations, Association Forum’s CAE Study Group meets weekly and includes group discussions that are designed to help association professionals study for the Certified Association Executive exam — then pass it!
The next CAE Study Groups will take place starting in September.
Who: The study group is intended for association professionals who have met the basic CAE certification requirements, and plan to sit for an upcoming exam.
What: The study group is an interactive group of association professionals that meets weekly to study the nine identified domains of association management.
How: Facilitated by CAE "graduates," study group sessions focus on the nine identified domains of association management. During each session, participants review identified best practices for each domain, sample CAE questions and key terms. The group also offers a test-prep session, a CAE pre-test during the first session, and a CAE mock exam. It is strongly advised that all participants read the recommended readings before each session. Domains are not covered in numeric order; a study guide is provided at the first session. To order recommended books and materials, visit ASAE’s recommended literature list.
When: Study group sessions meet from 5:30 to 8 p.m. for eleven weeks in February, March and April for the Spring exam date, and in September, October and November for the Fall exam date.
Feedback from recent participants indicates that students spend from four to six hours reviewing materials and recommended readings each week. How much time you spend preparing for each class and the exam will depend on your comfort level with the material for each domain.
Cost: The Association Forum's CAE Study Group costs $450 for members and $600 for non-members.
