Tips and Tools to Prepare for Anything the Future May Hold

In this discussion-based session, Callan Stapleton and Kristen Ball will cover three main topic areas that are top of mind across the association industry. They'll discuss tips for event planning in this uncertain atmosphere of in-person, hybrid, and virtual experiences. Then, they'll offer insights on developing products & services to diversify association revenue portfolios. Finally, they'll cover the changing organizational structures and expectations of staff going forward. Under each topic area, they will share their personal experiences and look to the audience to also share their experiences in a lively discussion.
About the Speakers
Kristen Ball is a Certified Meeting Professional with 25 years of experience in meeting planning and non-profit management. She has served in various capacities at several statewide associations including Membership Director, Communications Director, Development Director, and as Executive Director for a national organization. Kristen currently works as an independent contractor for an association management company, managing one state and one national association.
Kristen is a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign College of Communications and received her CMP certification in 2010. She resides in Williamsville, IL, with her two sons, Zach and Luke.
Callan Stapleton, CAE, is the President of IBES at the Illinois Bankers Association (IBA). He has held various positions at the IBA since 2015 and has been in his current position since December 2017. Prior to joining the IBA, he worked in the banking industry for more than 15 years, primarily in correspondent banking, and has had the focus for being an asset for banks throughout Illinois. He currently serves on the ISAE Chapter Board.
